Illegal to anonymously harrass via the Internet

C/Net's Declan McCullagh reports on the implications of H.R. 3402, the "Violence Against Women and Department of Justice Reauthorization Act of 2005". He states that, with passage of this act, it has become a criminal act to annoy or harrass anyone anonymously via the Internet.

Buried in the new law is Sec. 113, titled "Preventing Cyberstalking." It rewrites existing telephone harassment law to prohibit anyone from using the Internet "without disclosing his identity and with intent to annoy."
