New Leica RTK Rover

Directions Magazine is reporting that Leica Geosystems has a new RTK rover out, that's only an amazing 2.8kg / 6.16 lbs. This unit is called the SmartRover, and is compatible with the SmartStation Integrated GPS/Total Station unit.

Another great innovation by the great folks at Leica- I may even have to update my header graphics to show the new Leica hardware from the 1200 GPS system I have on the right now- wouldn't mind getting my hands on either system, to be frank (a boy can dream...)

2 Response for the " New Leica RTK Rover "

  1. I am trading my smart-rover (cable unit with GTX1230 senser) in for this next week. Will come now with a 1250 controler which carries all goddies that were in the packpack. apparently only slightly thicker.
i am gagging for a cablefree solution and cant wait. can let you know.
i can however say, the 1200 setup has honestly boosted my production used with LGO. still not perfect but doing 3 days gps survey and then loading the gps work onto the tps to finish helps. it also works well.
a few bugs. page display slows down a lot with job size, and curves need sorting from LGO. these are being looked into as i write.........i hope!

I am trying to compare the Leic 1200 RTK versus the Trimble 5800. Does anyone have any experience with either?
